Pre-Requisites: Participants will need to complete 218 Basic Troop Camping Online Pre-Session. This session will be made available to participants in their gsLearn account after the registration window closes for this course.

This adult training is required when planning to troop/group camp with girls at GSCM or non-GSCM sites with established restrooms or latrines and established sleeping facilities such as cabins, screened-in shelters, platform tents, or yurts.

Participants, in patrols, will plan and shop for meals, learn and practice outdoor skills, outdoor program activities, safety factors, and how to facilitate the Girl Scout Leadership Experience through outdoor education.

Prior to attending the pre-session, you must complete the gsLearn course titled 218 Basic Troop Camping Online Pre-Session, which will be made available to all registered participants after the registration window closes for this course.

The Basic Troop Camping course includes a pre-session online component, an in-person pre-planning session and an overnight camp out.  You must attend both the pre-session and the corresponding overnight in order to receive credit. You cannot attend the outdoor session without the pre-session, and you cannot attend the pre-session for this training and a different outdoor session later.

Cost: There is no fee for this course; however, the cost of meals for the weekend will be shared among the participants. All participants will decide how to split these costs at the in-person pre-session.
