Adult Learning
GSCM offers a range of courses to help prepare and train you in your role as a Girl Scout Volunteer. Our goal is to provide girls with the best possible program in a safe environment and to provide adult volunteers with the training necessary to ensure excellent programming for our girls and their safety and protection. To do that, we require Girl Scout Leaders and Advisors to complete required training within six months of their appointment.
gsLearn: Adult Learning Courses on Your Schedule
We want to ensure that our volunteers have access to learning opportunities in a variety of settings, and that cover a variety of topics. From the basics of Girl Scouting to understanding mental wellness, we want to help our volunteers be prepared for every situation.
Check out gsLearn for independent online learning courses. All volunteers with a My GS account have access to gsLearn, which include GSUSA Foundations, courses about badge offerings, the Volunteer Toolkit, the Cookie Program, and more! To access gsLearn, simply sign in to My GS, then click “gsLearn” in the menu on the left-hand side. You will see some courses on your homepage that are for all volunteers. To locate additional courses, click “Content Library” on the menu located on the left, then either scroll through the list, or use the search bar at the top to find the course you need.
For each volunteer role and grade level, there are some courses which are required and some courses which are optional enrichment opportunities. Please be certain to complete all required courses for the roles that you hold. If you have any questions about any of the trainings, please email membercare@gscm.org.

Adult Learning Opportunities Based on Program Level
These courses should be taken in addition to all required volunteer
courses, as well all the required troop leader courses if applicable.
For example, if a volunteer is a Daisy program or event volunteer
(i.e., does not lead/help a troop), then they should take the required
volunteer and Daisy Girl Scout volunteer trainings. If they are a
troop leader, they should take the required volunteer, troop leader,
and Daisy Girl Scout volunteer courses. For leaders of multi-level
troops, they should take the required courses for all levels they work
with. We highly suggest taking enrichment courses as needed and/or to
develop knowledge, skills, and confidence in supporting Girl
Scouts.

We are currently working to build our outdoor skills instructors corps so that we may offer more outdoor skill trainings for our volunteers. We are seeking qualified instructors interested in teaching courses, as well as adult volunteers who may be interested in becoming trained instructors, for the following:
