Sleep Away Camp | Troop Camping
You’re a force of nature, Girl Scout and you are ready for outdoor adventures.
Whether you’re discovering the wildlife in your own backyard, swimming in a lake for the first time at summer camp or being a citizen scientist and observing bees in your neighborhood park, every outdoor adventure grows your “I’ve got this” attitude. And once you unlock that confidence, you’ll aim as high as the stars you see outside your cabin window.
In Girl Scouts your outdoor adventure can include learning to canoe in a creek or using your honed skills to canoe solo across a lake. Pitching a tent in your backyard or on an overnight camping trip with your troop. Hiking new trails, conducting environmental studies in local waterways, tackling the aerial ropes course, learning about the habitats of native or exotic wildlife, or understanding the importance of reducing your carbon footprint.

About our Camp Programs
Each session offers a wide variety of options for girls that include themed specialty activities, as well as, traditional camp activities. Sleep away Camp at Camp Conowingo features unique leadership opportunities where girls build 21st century life skills that help them become leaders of tomorrow. They discover how to be independent and self-reliant, connect with others individually and as a team, and learn ways to take action to protect the planet’s natural resources.

Sleep away Camp at Camp Conowingo, located near the beautiful Susquehanna River in Cecil County, is the perfect environment for outdoor exploration and adventure. Unique leadership opportunities* abound as they face challenges and successes while building 21st century life skills that help them become leaders of tomorrow. They discover how to be independent and self-reliant, connect with others individually and as a team, and learn ways to take action to protect the planet’s natural resources.
