About our Camp Programs

Whether you’re a first-time camper or a veteran seeking new adventures, you’ll find fun, friendship and memories to last a lifetime! This summer we will be offering Resident Camp! Each session offers a wide variety of options for girls that include themed specialty activities, as well as, traditional camp activities. Resident Camp at Camp Conowingo features unique leadership opportunities where girls build 21st century life skills that help them become leaders of tomorrow. They discover how to be independent and self-reliant, connect with others individually and as a team, and learn ways to take action to protect the planet’s natural resources.

Resident Camp

Girl Scouts’ days will be split into sessions with girls rotating through activities in groups. In addition to experiencing her program themed activities, every girl will have the opportunity to experience core camp activities such as swimming, arts and crafts, campfires, nature exploration and more. Each camper will be sent home with information detailing badge and Journey-related activities completed during the week. To view the Resident Camp sessions, click here.

Information Sessions

Have questions about camp at Camp Conowingo? Join us for a camp preview, where we will discuss camp and share helpful hints to make campers’ experiences more enjoyable. This is the time for you to ask questions and get special sneak peeks. Staff will be on hand to answer your questions and help you pick the perfect camp session(s).

Winter Adventures at Camp Conowingo

Girl Scout Brownies - Ambassadors

February 11, 2023 at 10:00AM - February 12, 2023, at 10:00AM

$50/girl; $30/adult

Experience the fun of summer camp during the winter as we hike, use the challenge course, climb the rockwall and enjoy other great winter activities. Tell your summer camp friends to come out and join you this winter at the "coolest" camp ever. Fee includes fun patch, activity supplies and three meals plus a snack.

Camp Conowingo

Come join us at the annual Camp Summit at the beautiful rustic Camp Conowingo. Throughout the program, girls will DISCOVER art, culture and outdoor activities, CONNECT with other Girl Scouts from central Maryland and surrounding councils, and TAKE ACTION through service projects, all in this action-packed weekend. Bring your own tent, or stay in the units at beautiful, rustic Camp Conowingo (As space allows). This event is open to Brownies through Cadettes. Think you are too old to participate in this event? Then come out and volunteer! It will be a fun-filled weekend you will always remember. There will be activities for everyone to challenge themselves and enjoy the weekend! Cost includes four meals, program supplies and program patch.

Camp Conowingo

Come out to Conowingo with your caregiver(s) for a day of fun while you learn about summer camp! Your camper will have the chance to make new friends and enjoy some summer activities including the rock wall, pool, horses, archery and arts and crafts. Girls and their families will have a chance to tour the camp, meet the staff, and enjoy hamburgers, hot dogs and more! This is not a drop off event.

Girls Scout Daisies - Juniors

July 2 - 3, 2023

$95 per person

This is an opportunity for daughters and female caregivers to experience overnight camp together. Come meet the camp staff, see the facilities and experience fun camp activities including slingshots, STEM, crafts, swimming, campfire songs, and s’mores! Every participant will receive a t-shirt, a Camp Conowingo Resident Camp patch and a year rocker. Camp Conowingo's trained staff will provide all activities and meals. Female caregivers will provide around the clock supervision of their own girls.

Leadership Opportunity

Counselor in Training (CIT) I  // Sessions 1 & 2 | $715 
Seniors & Ambassadors, Grades 10 - 12
This program gives you a chance to develop skills as a leader and future camp staff member. Learn to facilitate camp activities, work with younger campers, and just have FUN! Girls will earn a First Aid/CPR certification as well as their CIT I pins.
Note: This is a two-week program; participants will go home over the weekend.

Counselor in Training (CIT) II // Sessions 5, 6, 7 & 8 | $820
Ambassadors, Grades 11 - 12
You will work directly with a camp counselor on developing programming ideas, facilitating specialized camp activities, and sharing your knowledge while working with the other CITs. During your 4-week stay you will also get the opportunity to stay at another Girl Scout camp to learn how they run their program. Girls will earn their CIT II pins. 
Note: This is a four-week program; participants will go home over the weekends.

Junior Counselor  //  Sessions 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 & 8 | No cost 
Ambassadors, Grade 12
Broaden your leadership skills by discovering what it’s really like to be a counselor at Camp Conowingo. Our Junior Counselors will be assigned programs weekly, have time off each day, and go home on the weekends. This is a great opportunity for girls who dream of becoming a counselor. Space is limited. All Junior Counselors will be interviewed by the Camp Director and placement will be determined based on experience. 
Note: This is a six-week program; participants will go home over the weekends.

Wrangler in Training (WIT) I  //  Sessions 1 & 2 | $715
Seniors & Ambassadors, Grades 10 - 12
Work behind the scenes at the Camp Conowingo stables with our horse staff. Wranglers-in-Training must have documented experience riding and caring for horses. Only girls with written documentation should apply.
Note: This is a two-week program; participants will go home over the weekend.

Wrangler in Training (WIT) II  // Sessions 5, 6, 7 & 8 | $855
Ambassadors, Grades 11 - 12
Work directly with the equestrian staff to learn every aspect of the horse program, including horse maintenance, teaching campers, and giving input on the program itself. During your 4-week stay you will also get the opportunity to stay at another Girl Scout camp to learn how they run their program.
Note: This is a four-week program; participants will go home over the weekends.
