Juliette Low Society Planned Giving/Bequests

Juliette Low Society Planned Giving Why Make a Bequest to GSCM

Juliette Low, founder of Girl Scouting, sold her family jewelry to pay the rent for the national office, thereby getting the nascent movement off to a good start. She went on to give her time, enthusiasm, fortune and indeed, devoted her life to Girl Scouting. Her legacy is the Girl Scouts of today -- the world's preeminent organization dedicated to girls.

To commemorate her legacy, we have established the Juliette Low Society. The Juliette Low Society guarantees the future of Girl Scouting in Central Maryland in the years to come by:

  • Making a bequest in a will.
  • Leaving a specific dollar amount, asset, or percentage of your will or trust to Girl Scouts of Central Maryland.
  • Designating various assets for Girl Scouts of Central Maryland for your charitable gift. These include -- but are not limited to -- stocks, bonds, CDs, real estate, vehicles, art, and jewelry. Such gifts will provide tax savings.
  • Naming Girl Scouts of Central Maryland as the beneficiary of your pension plan or IRA.
  • Naming Girl Scouts of Central Maryland as the beneficiary or owner of an existing life insurance policy.
  • Purchasing a new life insurance policy naming Girl Scouts of Central Maryland as the owner or beneficiary.
  • Remembering loved ones through long lasting memorial gifts.
