What is it?
The Council's Gift of Caring project is called Operation US Mint, a Girl Scout/USO partnership service project where girls collect boxes of donated Girl Scout Cookies for the US military.
What is it about? Connecting Girl Scouts in central Maryland to our brave men and women in uniform by sending soldiers care packages of Girl Scout cookies.
What do the girls get out of it?
This community service project gives the girls leadership experience, which is valuable for character-building. By working with and helping the U.S. Military, girls develop courage and confidence.
What does the military get out of it? While yes, they do get cookies, this inspiring project has brightened the faces and lifted the spirits of many military members preparing to leave their homes and families. Girl Scouts are honored to help in such a meaningful way.
