Please sponsor a Girl Scout to participate in a Community Program. It costs $104.45 for 1 girl to participate in one 6-week, in-school Community Program encouraging cooperation & teamwork in: STEM, anti-bulling, reading, healthy lifestyles, and financial literacy. $512,521 is the cost for 5,000 girls in grades K-5 to receive this supplemental academic support each year, 100% aligned with the Maryland State Education Department curricula.
Sponsor a Girl
A gift of $15.95, per month, or $47.86 per quarter would allow 1 child to be a Girl Scout for a year. A one-time, or a monthly, or a quarterly gift of any amount makes a difference. Only 80% of central Maryland’s Girl Scouts are to pay the $22 to join. Additionally, the actual cost for each girl each year is $191.44 for Council to provide relevant, quality programs & services.
Sponsor an Event
Consider sponsoring all or even part of an Annual Event!
Girl Scout Gold Award Banquet $10,000
Service Unit Kick-off Event $2,000
The BIG Outdoors Event $6,000
Top Cookie Selling Ice Cream Social Event $5,000
The Annual Delegate Banquet $8,000
Alumnae & Distinguished Women’s Reunion $5,000
Every girl can benefit from the experiences that summer camp buys, and no Girl Scout should miss camp because of a lack of funds. When you give for camperships you give financial assistance that is awarded to a Girl Scout to allow her to attend a Girl Scout summer camp program within the Council.

Planned Gifts/Juliette Gordon Low Society
Juliette’s outstanding leadership was matched by her stewardship when she converted the carriage house of her home into the first Girl Scout national headquarters, and she gifted the property to Girl Scouts in her will.
Juliette’s bequest was the beginning of planned giving to Girl Scouts. In her memory, the Juliette Gordon Low Society was established to thank and honor friends of Girl Scouting who choose to make Girl Scouts part of their legacies and a beneficiary of their estate plans. Providing a gift to Girl Scouts in your estate plans can include naming Girl Scouts as beneficiary of a:
- Retirement Plan
- Living Trust
- Donor Advised Fund
- Life Insurance Policy
- Charitable Gift Annuity
- Charitable Remainder Trust
- Charitable Lead Trust
- Remainder Gift of Real Estate
- Any other gift that benefits Girl Scouts in the future
As a member of GSCM’s Juliette Gordon Low Society, you will be invited to attend special recognition and educational events. Other benefits include updates and news as well as becoming listed as a Society member in select Girl Scout publications and/or web site, access to digital resources and a special membership lapel pin.
If you have already named GSCM as the beneficiary of a planned gift, let us know. We will welcome you as a Juliette Gordon Low Society member.
If you would like more information about how you can become a member in a manner that benefits you, your heirs and Girl Scouts – please contact Berit Killingstad, Major Gifts Officer, firstname.lastname@example.org or 410.358.9711, extension 225.
