Cavernous Crawl

Caving or ‘spelunking’ as many prefer, is an adventure sport that combines many different skills into one amazing experience. Crawling through tight squeezes, wiggling down tunnels on your belly or your backside, climbing up walls of rock – these are just a few of the challenges you might find in a cave environment. Pitch darkness is what makes caving and spelunking so different from other adventure sports. All of the challenges of movement in a confined space are increased when you have nothing more than a headlamp or flashlight for light! Participants will receive a Cavernous Crawl! Caving patch, part of the Seven Summits Patch program.

Who: Girl Scout Juniors – Ambassadors, adults and siblings grades 4-12 are welcome.

Fairy House Magic Festival

This event is CANCELLED due to low registration. 

 

Come dressed in costume as fairies, gnomes or wizards. Build your own fairy house out of natural materials and enter it into a contest. Listen to stories about fairy houses. There will be face painting, crafts such as making a wand and fairy dust, learn to dance like a fairy, play games and much more! A concession stand will be available where you can purchase snacks and drinks. You will also be able to tour historic Bell Manor. Event will run rain or shine. Early bird registration and walk-ins welcome. Girls will recive a Bell Manor patch or bell, crafts and game prizes.

The Historic Girl: Folk Art in the 1800s

Pretend you are a woman in 1800s Maryland! Discover how women lived during the 1800s, try on popular fashions, do chores, play games, and practice the crafts that occupied women’s lives. Read the diary of a girl who lived in 1800s Maryland, create a character, and write an entry as your character. Create your own embroidered sampler, view a quilting demonstration, and learn to weave!

Overnight Adventures at Port Discovery

Overnight Adventures combines the fun and excitement of exploring the great indoors of Port Discovery with hands-on, educational workshops! The program includes: free play in the Museum’s exhibits and program, creative arts and science based projects, evening snack and light breakfast, discount parking at Harbor Park Garage.

STEM is Fun Training

The STEM IS FUN Program-in-a-box provides eight sessions of activities covering the areas of science, math, technology and engineering. Including all of the curriculum and materials needed for activities, the STEM IS FUN program bins are a fun and easy way to introduce a Daisy or Brownie troop to STEM. Bins are $10 per girl for a rental up to 14 weeks, and can be checked out by leaders and volunteers that complete a STEM IS FUN training.

UnFrozen: Calling ALL Princesses!

Hear Ye! A Royal Proclamation is hereby issued! All Princesses, subjects and sundry Girl Scout guests of all ages are invited to the Royal Court of Arendelle for the birthday celebration for Princess Anna. Here is your opportunity to meet and mingle with “Princesses” like Anna and her friends Cinderella, Snow White, Aurora, Jasmine, Belle, Tiana and others as we gather for a grande soiree! There will be royal tea, refreshments, games, skits, crafts, dancing, and sing-along. Princess costumes or other royal attire for all ages are welcome. Includes tea and refreshments and patch.

Silver Award Workshop

The Girl Scout Silver Award is the highest award a Girl Scout Cadette can earn. Come learn the requirements for a successful Silver Award project. Silver Award workshops are strongly suggested, but not required, for girls. Both girls and adults attending this workshop need to register for the event.  This workshop is for Girl Scout Cadettes.
