- Two adults must be present at all times when Girl Scouts operate a booth in a store, mall, or other public place. Refer to Safety-Wise for more guidelines.
Booth Sales
- When selling at booth sales, it is recommended that one of the adults be certified as a First Aider. This is not a requirement, but is highly recommended for the safety and well being of girls. When groups sell at booth sales adults are required to locate the nearest hospital, fire department and/or police station in the event of an emergency.

- Girls should sell only during daylight hours unless accompanied by an adult when selling at booth sale locations. No booth sale should be conducted after 9 p.m. Permission must be obtained from parent/guardian for all girls to participate at booth sales and the general cookie sale.
Girls should wear Girl Scout identification when selling cookies. Girls may wear their uniform, sash, vest, official Girl Scout pins or Girl Scout T-shirt.
Money Guidelines
- Girls are given money envelopes to use during the Cookie Sale to collect money from customers. Please write the following information on the outside of the envelope:

First name, first letter of last name |
Service Unit and/or Troop Number |
In the event that envelopes are lost customers should contact Girl Scouts of Central Maryland to report the lost envelope.
- Safeguards for money collected must be coordinated by adults. Money must be given to the accompanying or supervising adult frequently to avoid girls walking around with large sums of cash.
Selling in a Neighborhood
- Girls should be familiar with the neighborhoods where they sell Girl Scout cookies.
- Girls must sell with a buddy at all times.
- NEVER enter a customer's home.
