Arts and Crafts Manager
To plan, manage and supervise the Arts and Crafts program activities to promote and encourage girls to be creative and innovative. Promote the Girl Scout philosophy in the area of creative arts.
Requirements: Incumbent must be at least 21 years or older. Demonstrate the ability to teach and supervise various arts and crafts program activities to girls age 6 to 17. Ability to work with individuals and groups of diverse backgrounds.

Assistant Camp Director
To assist the Resident Camp Director in the administration, management and supervision of the delivery of Girl Scout program at summer Resident Camp.
Requirements: College degree or demonstrated experience in leadership and supervision of resident camp program activities. First Aid and CPR certification, or be willing and able to successfully complete training. Ability to work with individuals and groups of diverse background. Incumbent must possess a valid driver’s license and have proof of insurance.

Assistant Unit Leaders (18 and over)
Assist in the supervision and the health and safety of girls in the unit. Implement the development of Girl Scout program activities in the unit through girl involvement and planning. Help girls gain an appreciation of the outdoors and integrate the Girl Scout philosophy into the camp experience.
Requirements: Incumbent must be 18 years or older. Completed High School. Have documented experience of participating in Resident Camp programs. Ability to demonstrate leadership, supervisory and organization skills. Must be able to accept guidance and supervision.

Business Manager
Oversee the resident camp office including but not limited to keeping orderly records, communicating with vendors and parents, maintaining the camp paperwork in a timely and orderly fashion.
Requirements: Incumbent must be 22 years or older. Experience in office procedures, preferably with knowledge and experience of summer camp administration.

Nurse/Health Supervisor
To supervise and coordinate the health and safety of the campers and staff.
Requirements: Current Maryland State license as a physician, physician’s assistant, registered nurse or nurse practitioner. Ability to recognize and deal with potential health and safety hazards. Working knowledge of medication dispersal. Ability to nurture the emotional and physical needs of the campers and staff. Ability to keep accurate records of treatment, procedures and phone calls.

Horseback Riding Assistant
To assist Horseback Riding Director in the development and implementation of a progressive horseback riding program for various skill levels while maintaining a high standard of safety.
Requirements: Incumbent must be 18 years or older. Have written proof or certifications/ qualifications. Ability to maintain safety standards for campers and staff. Ability to work with girls ages 8 to 17 years of age.

Horseback Riding Manager
To develop and implement a progressive horseback riding program for various skill levels that encompasses basics of a horse; horse maintenance and care, stable maintenance, riding skills while maintaining a high standard of safety.
Requirements: Incumbent must be 21 years or older. Have written proof or certifications as to qualifications. (Prefer CHA Certification) Ability to direct, supervise, schedule, train other staff, while maintaining safety standards for campers and staff. Prefer candidate to have the ability to live on-site during the summer season. Ability to work with girls ages 8 to 17 years of age.

Kitchen Assistants
To prepare, serve and clean up meals for groups up to 250 campers and adults.
Requirements: Incumbent must be at least 18 years or older. Experience as a cook or assistant cook. Training and experience of cooking for large groups. Dishwashing experience.

 

Kitchen Manager
To supervise all aspects of the food service area to serve groups up to 250 campers and adults daily including supervising staff, menu creation, food ordering, food preparation and serving.
Requirements: Incumbent must be 21 years or older. Experience in a camp or institutional food service setting. Current State of Maryland Food Handlers Certification. Ability to train and supervise other staff.

Nature Manager
To plan, direct, implement and supervise the camp’s outdoor living skills program and environmental education. To give all girls participating in Girl Scouts of Central Maryland’s Resident Camp program an opportunity to expand their knowledge and respect of the outdoors.
Requirements: Training and experience in outdoor living skills and/or environmental education.
Ability to develop and implement program for girls ages 6-17. Be at least 21 years of age or experience in the outdoor education field.

Ropes Course Manager
To direct, supervise and manage the camp’s challenge/low and high rope courses. Ensure the health and safety of campers and staff when they are participating on one of the courses.
Requirements: Incumbent must be at least 21 years old. Must attend instructional program and obtain certification in safety, equipment and individual elements of the courses. Ability to help maintain the challenge courses, equipment and surrounding area. Ability to supervise and instruct campers and staff, while maintaining health and safety standards.

Sports Manager
To direct, supervise and manage the sports and games programs. Ensure the health and safety of campers and staff when they are participating.
Requirements: Incumbent must be at least 21 years old. Prefer someone with a rock climbing or ropes course background. Ability to supervise and instruct campers and staff, while maintaining health and safety standards.

Travel Camp Leader/Adventure Staff (21 and over)
To lead groups of girls on camps that travel out of camp on a weekly basis. Ensure safety of campers and other staff while creating a challenging and fun environment.
Requirements: Incumbent must be 21 years or older. Prefer someone with WFA or WFR certification. Experience leading groups in an outdoor setting. Background in outdoor education with experience in teaching outdoor living skills.

Unit Leaders (21 and over)
To plan, organize and implement the Girl Scout program in a designated unit living area; giving leadership and guidance to campers for a healthful and fun Girl Scout group camping experience.
Requirements: Incumbent must be 21 years or older. Two years of college or experience as a Girl Scout troop leader, teacher, and camp counselor or recreation leader. Ability to supervise and guide campers and adults. Knowledge of interests, needs and abilities of girls of various age levels. Possess strength and endurance required to maintain constant supervision of campers. Ability to plan, organize and schedule program activities.

Waterfront Assistant
To teach and help coordinate camp’s waterfront and swimming activities, and help maintain standards that lead to quality Girl Scout programs.
Requirements: Incumbent must be 18 years or older. Hold current Lifeguard Certification, prefer candidate with WSI certification. Experience in waterfront programs.

Waterfront Manager
To manage the safety, staffing, daily pool operations and maintenance of the waterfront area. Coordinating swim tests for campers each week and coordinating waterfront activities daily.
Requirements: Incumbent must be 21 years or older. Hold a current WSI and Lifeguard Certification. Prefer candidate with current Canoe Instructor certification. Ability to manage, supervise and schedule the daily waterfront program activities. Minimum of 6 months experience in teaching and planning waterfront program.
