Who are Girl Scouts?
We are a volunteer-based organization with a variety of opportunities for both women and men to help girls achieve their full potential. Whether you have an hour, a day, a weekend, or more, the time, energy and talent you share with Girl Scouts will instill girls’ confidence that will last a lifetime. As a Girl Scout volunteer, you have an opportunity to meet new people, use your time meaningfully, and share your talents and skills with both girls and adults. It is an excellent, rewarding experience to help girls grow strong.

Get Involved
Adult involvement and support is vital to ensuring a positive experience for girls in Girl Scouts. Families can enjoy and share many activities with girls in Girl Scouts.
Beyond being a leader, co-leader or assistant leader, you can do many other jobs – some of them are one time activities, others last a weekend, or perhaps a month or two. The bottom line is to give your support to the leader who is there for the girls.
Some of the activities you may want to help with include:
-
Girl Scout Cookie Sale Chair
- Phone Tree Coordinator
- Transportation Coordinator
- Refreshment Coordinator
- Program Consultant
- Troop Camp Trained Adult
- First – Aider
- Family Share Coordinator
- Driver
- Field Trip Coordinator
Contact your daughter’s Girl Scout leader to get information on how you can help her troop.
Support Your Daughter’s Troop
In addition to volunteering with the troop, there are many ways you can support your daughter, her troop, her leader and the Girl Scout program.
To help you can:
- Remember that a Girl Scout leader is a volunteer and welcomes parent help and support.
- See that your daughter attends troop meetings regularly and arrives and is picked up in a timely manner.
- Participate in parent meetings.
- Attend special troop functions.
- Follow safety and security guidelines and encourage your child to do the same.
- Return signed permission slips on time.
