21st Century Endowment

GIRL SCOUTS: timeless, passionate, proud and exciting!

Since 1916, Girl Scouts of Central Maryland has been charged with inspiring girls to the highest ideals of character, conduct, patriotism and service by helping equip them with strong ethics, sound decision-making capabilities and high self esteem.

What is it?

As a friend of Girl Scouting, you have a stake in seeing that women leaders of tomorrow are well prepared to meet the challenges of the new millennium. The best way to ensure their future, and the future of Girl Scouting in Central Maryland, is through our newly established 21st Century Endowment.

Your gift to the endowment is permanently restricted. Earnings from the endowment will provide for the future needs of Girl Scouts. And, because principal from the endowment is not touched, it will generate revenue year after year to support Girl Scout Programs. Your gift to the endowment is your testament about the value and esteem you place on these programs and the organization itself. It's like saying, "I want to be sure this organization stays around and does its work, long after I'm gone."

How you can contribute

There are several ways to contribute to the endowment. Of course, you can make an outright cash gift. You can also make a pledge that you can pay monthly or quarterly. Or, you can charge your gift to a credit card entirely, or in a number of payments.

Other ways to contribute to the 21st Century Endowment include gifts of appreciated stock, art, antiques and jewelry.

However you choose to give, remember that the girls of today and tomorrow are counting on you to care enough to preserve Girl Scouting as a vital organization into the 21st Century and beyond.

Endowment funds will ensure the future of programs such as:

  • Career education and mentoring
  • Hands on science and technology activities
  • Safe after-school programs
  • Girl Scouts Beyond Bars + Bridge Beyond Bars (a program for daughters of incarcerated women)
