Girl Scouts offers an informal education program designed to help girls actualize the Girl Scout Promise and Law. It is carried out in small groups with adult leadership and provides a wide range of activities developed around the needs and interests of girls in the groups.

The Girl Scout program has four basic goals:

  1. help each girl develop her full potential;
  2. relate to others with increasing understanding, skill and respect;
  3. develop values; and
  4. contribute to the betterment of her community.

Girls explore areas of interest such as science and technology, the arts and humanities, health and fitness, natural surroundings and camping, cultural understanding and citizenship. They have an opportunity to develop new skills and self-confidence, to have fun, and to make new friends.

Girl Scouts of Central Maryland is proud to offer an array of exciting program opportunities for girls. Program patch packets such as Maryland Heritage, Bring a Friend, Harvest for the Hungry and Right to Vote are only a few of the patch program activities available. When girls work on these activities they are working toward developing skills they will use for the rest of their life.

Membership Incentive Program

A great way to get Girl Scouts, troop leaders and service unit leaders motivated is by working together to achieve the Membership Incentive Program. The program is divided up into five tracks so that everyone can participate, and each track offers an award for those that complete it. Troop leaders can get the entire packet here, and service unit leaders can download the applicable packet here. You can also choose from the options below to get exactly the form that you need.
-Track 1-Just for Girls
-Track 2-Adult Leaders
-Track 3-Troop/Group Awards
-Track 4-Super Star Troops/Groups
-Track 5-All Star Service Units

Good Luck!
