2007 Top Cookie Seller Interviewed on WBAL with Rodney Henry

Kal Jackson of WJZ spoke with Khadijah James, this year's top pre-order cookie seller, and Rodney Henry of Dangerously Delicious Pies on November 2, 2008. Khadijah and Rodney spoke about the Green Carpet Event, (happening Nov. 13) where Khadijah will watch the crowning of new top cookie seller. Rodney Henry will also be at the Green Carpet Event, delighting the crowd with his pies.

Daisy Troop 2132 Prove to be Entrepreneurial Dynamos!

<From WBAL Interview, October, 2008>

In one week Girl Scout Daisy Troop 2132 broke records by selling more than 1,300 boxes of Girl Scout cookies! This is the first year Daisies have been allowed to sell cookies for the program. Their success story was featured in WBAL news story.

Eight Seniors Honored by Catholic Charities

Eight Senior Girl Scouts received the Anne Lindsey Otenasek Youth Service Award from Catholic Charities for their work at St. Vincent's Center during the holiday season. Rachel C., Katherine C., Katie D., Alex G., Rebecca H., Marianna J., and Alanna M. from Troop 1195 have created a Christmas gift shop at St. Vincent's residential facility the past two years that allows the children who are there each holiday season to pick out three gifts for friends or family members, have the gifts wrapped, and enjoy cookies, holiday music, and holiday decorations. Four Girl Scout councils participate in Legislative Day in Annapolis

Governor O'Malley with the Girl Scouts on Legislative DayAbout 150 Girl Scouts went to the State House on Thursday, February 21st to meet local lawmakers, and to lobby for funding to expand the current Baltimore office for the Girl Scouts of Central Maryland Council. All Girl Scouts were able to meet with their senators or legislators, sit in on a Senate session, listen to Senator Lisa Gladden speak about her experiences growing up, and meet Governor O'Malley.

Girl Scouts find out what being hungry is like on World Thinking Day

Girl Scouts and Girl Guides from Russett and Maryland City joined together on February 16 to honor World Thinking Day. Troop 7059 hosted the event and led a program about food, world hunger, and served breakfast to the girls in attendance.
